Our history
LEIMARS was founded by Valentina Daniela Cercado Leiva, a distinguished attorney with an outstanding career and five international degrees. She is a qualified lawyer, licensed in Peru and Spain, and holds an MBA in Global Management from City University of Seattle in Washington, USA. Additionally, Valentina earned a Master’s in Environmental Policy and Management from Carlos III University of Madrid, Spain, and a Master’s in Environmental Development from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP).
With over 20 years of experience and an innovative vision in the field of international environmental management, she has collaborated with private companies and public institutions across various countries. She has actively participated in the transposition and modification of European Parliament regulations and has contributed to projects by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) focused on industrial pollution prevention, control, and environmental responsibility.
Since 2003, she identified the need to provide comprehensive legal and environmental compliance services to companies, offering updated, ethical, and responsible solutions to address the constant changes in environmental supervision and regulation. As a lawyer, Valentina was employed at the Ministry of the Environment of Spain and served as a consultant for the Ministry of the Environment of Peru. Additionally, she has held positions in the Evaluation and Supervision Directorate of the Environmental Assessment and Enforcement Agency – OEFA, the Supervisory Agency for Investment in Energy and Mining – OSINERGMIN, and the National Water Authority – ANA, as well as in renowned companies such as Líder Inversiones y Proyectos, Enactus, Perkins Coie LLP, and Skanska USA Building in the United States.
She is the founder of LEIMARS CORPORATION SAC, an environmental consulting firm with national and international presence, currently advising on major global projects. Her remarkable career has been recognized by the prestigious newspaper Seattle Times, which highlighted her academic achievements and contributions to sustainable projects in the United States. Among these, the “Shirtie Mask” project earned her the Excellence Award in the Enactus USA COVID-19 Challenge (2022). She has also been honored by Ford Motor Company and has established strategic alliances with technology firms in Washington. In 2022, her “Clean UP” project in New York received recognition from Enactus USA.
In the academic field, she has served as a professor at the Academy of Magistrates of Peru and at various private universities in Peru. She has also been a speaker in specialized diploma programs and courses on environmental matters for companies across different industrial sectors.
